The Dönges Basic series is deliberately kept in a moderate and common pocket-knife size. This means that the knife can be carried in everyday life and can also be used for general cutting tasks. In an emergency, it is always at hand as a professional rescue tool in the unforeseen event of an emergency. The strong common features of all three models are the anodized handle scales made of 6061 aircraft aluminium with a non-slip Dönges honeycomb structure, blades made of tough 440A stainless steel with a biting half-shaft and ball-bearing axles, a glass-breaker, a belt-cutter and a reliable steel clip for tip-down/R carrying.
 
The knife for firefighters from the Basic series is equipped with a universal spearpoint blade that can be opened either by finger flipper or thumb stud. The 6061 aluminium scales are anodized firefighter red.
